The Glens Red Squirrel Group is a voluntary organisation dedicated to the protection and promotion of the Red Squirrel in the Glens of Antrim.

“The Group is established to monitor and report the activities of the Red Squirrel. The Group will endeavor to protect the Red Squirrel and to provide whatever assistance possible to enable it to thrive in the Glens of Antrim.”

The Group needs all types of members to enable it to do its work. Membership is available to over 18’s only. We are a family friendly group; children of adult members are welcome to join in all events under their parent’s supervision

We engage in activities such as practical field work (Feeding Reds and Grey Control) and the administration of the recording of sightings and results of surveys.

We operate a program of walks and talks, raise public awareness and train people to observe and record. We will need Fundraisers and people who can facilitate presentations to other interest groups. Come join us and help protect this endearing but endangered animal.

If you are unable to attend or give up any time at the minute we would still love to have you. As a member we will keep you up to date with all the work and projects we’re involved in around the Glens.
